ACDS 2019 Annual Conference, Positioning for New Realities
The Best Western Premier Calgary Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre, Calgary, AB
May 13 – 14, 2019
The purpose of this hands-on LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop is to (re)introduce the importance of play in effective and inclusive work environments; highlighting the key pillars of play (safety, honesty, engagement, and universality) in a hands-on, play-based method, this workshop will benefit leaders both in their teams and workplaces as well as their clients through greater engagement in their process(es). In contrast to traditional play with LEGO® where individuals build the tangibles (cars, spaceships, buildings, etc), in an LSP workshop, participants build the intangibles in their workplace (i.e. what does it mean to be truly inclusive?), the things they know and understand intuitively but perhaps cannot put words to. As workplaces become more diverse, methods such as LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® which utilize all of the key pillars of play in a meaningful way become increasingly important as a means of including this diversity and engaging all participants to their maximum capacity!
